Authorities say a Bartlett man strangled his wife to death over her nagging, a patient in Aurora is expected to be charged after claiming to have a bomb on him, and an Aurora man faces time in prison after choking and beating his girlfriend 2 years ago

Authorities say a Bartlett man strangled his wife to death over her nagging. 58-year-old Carlo Madonia is being held on a three-million-dollar-bail. Dupage County deputies responded to the couple’s home on South Lido Trail last week and found 58-year-old Nancy Madonia upstairs. They arrested her husband in the kitchen, finding him with blood on his hands.

Aurora police say charges are expected to be filed against a patient at Presence Mercy Medical Center. Police say the 57-year-old man told staff at the hospital that he had a bomb in his backpack Thursday night. Security escorted him out and contacted police.

An Aurora man faces time in prison after being convicted of beating and choking his girlfriend at their apartment two years ago. 25-year-old Nicholas Janacek waived his right to a jury trial and was convicted last week of aggravated domestic battery among other offenses.
