Aurora’s Mayor looks to the Community on ways to improve the town,I-DOT begins repairs on the US-20 Bridge that goes along the Fox River, and a missing Hiker from Batavia has been found dead in Yellowstone National Park

I-DOT has started its repairs of the U.S. 20 bridge in Elgin.  One lane of the bridge that spans the Fox River will be closed.  The closure will affect the right eastbound lane of U.S. 20.  The work should take approximately one week.  The work includes fixing the concrete bridge deck patching and repairing the structure of the bridge approach.

 

A missing hiker has been found dead in Yellowstone National Park.  53-year-old Jeff Murphy of Batavia, Illinois fell from Turkey Ten Peak.  Eight hiking teams, five dog teams, four horse teams, and a helicopter started searching for Murphy near the park’s North Entrance.

 

Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin’s transition team is hosting two public town hall meetings to gather information on how to enhance the community.  The first is this Wednesday at 9 AM at Waubonsie Valley High School.  The second town hall will be Monday June 19 at 6:30 PM at West Aurora High School.  The transition team is looking for the public’s input on the mayor’s agenda moving forward.
