Severe Thunderstorms cause Residential Frustrations, Bruce Rauner calls for Second Special Session, and Naperville Crimestoppers offers reward for Information

Severe thunderstorms that brought heavy rain, hail, and strong winds to the region have made matters worse in the wake of recent flooding. The storms moved through Sunday causing the already swollen Fox River to rise again after it had previously started receding.

Governor Bruce Rauner has called for a second special legislative session in a month. Lawmakers ignored his deadline for sending him public education funding legislation with just weeks before the scheduled opening of schools, prompting the governor to call the session.

Naperville Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrested in a number of incidents involving criminal property damage. Police found at least 20 mailboxes damaged in one night earlier this month in the River Run neighborhood.
